How did you get your start in this business?
My (Sheri's) parents, Robert and Linda Smith, purchased the park April 1st 2009, In 2015 they decided they would like to do some traveling and try to retire.
After trying to sell the park for over a year with no success they decided they would stay a bit longer. Everyone asks how Marc and I came to the decision to
come to Wilbur, and I always tell them "it was a really bad day at work and too many drinks in the hot tub that night"!! LOL We made the call to mom and dad and offered to come help them for the summer and learn the business and then purchase the business that fall. We arrived in Wilbur the first part of June and started working, after about 3 days they decided we could handle it and we were on our own. November 1st we officially took over the business and have loved it ever since.
What has been one of your favorite projects so far?
Our favorite project has been the expansion of the park to include 14 long term RV sites for those who either live in their RV's full time or need a place to set up the RV for a vacation or get away spot.
What is your favorite part of your job/your business?
Our favorite part of the job are the people we have met throughout our days during our time here, whether it has been campers, customers in the cafe or just fishermen stopping by to check out our supply of fishing gear. We have met a lot of really nice people.
Tell us one thing about your business that is unique:
We offer food delivered from our Cafe right to your RV. The cafe is what makes us special. It is not common to have a restaurant located inside an RV park.
